This topic will cover:
- Networking and socializing - Mastering the first five minutes of a meeting, from the perfect handshake to the elevator pitch.
Skills developed:
- Pragmatics - understanding the unspoken rules of business. For example, when to be direct vs when to use hedging language like, " I'm not sure that's the best approach".
- Vocabulary expansion - Moving away from basic vocabulary eg instead of chaning a plan, we are refining/pivoting it.
- Listening comprehension - Decoding many international accents and understanding fast paced corporate jargon.
