Lesson Structure:

1. Introduction

- Briefly introduce the topic of creativity in writing.

- Discuss the importance of narrative in communication, self-expression, and storytelling.

- Share the lesson's objective: to learn how to take ideas and shape them into engaging narratives.

2. Warm-Up Activity

- Start with a word related to themes (e.g., "life," "journey," "dream").

- We take turns saying a word that is associated with the previous word.

3. Idea Generation

- Discussion: Introduce brainstorming techniques such as mind-mapping or listing.

- Activity:

-We pick one theme from the warm-up activity.

- Five minutes to brainstorm ideas using the chosen theme, we can use bullet points or a mind map.

- Encourage us to think outside the box and not to judge the ideas at this stage.

4. Turning Ideas into Narratives

- Discussion:

- Share key elements of storytelling (characters, setting, plot, conflict, resolution).

- Explain how to select key elements from their brainstormed ideas to form a narrative.

- Activity:

- In pairs, students will choose one brainstormed idea and outline a brief narrative structure (beginning, middle, end).

- Encourage the considering character motivations and how the narrative can engage readers.

5. Sharing and Feedback

- Invite my student to share their narratives with me.

- Provide positive feedback and constructive suggestions. Encourage peers to offer input as well.

6. Conclusion and Homework

- Summarize the main points discussed during the lesson.

- Assign homework: You will choose one narrative outline created and write a 500-word story based on it. Encourage us to focus on crafting compelling characters and vivid descriptions.
