I have been taking lessons with Koyuki Sensei since October 2023, and throughout that time I have been consistently impressed with the quality of her teaching. When I started, I had almost no knowledge of Japanese. Since then, we have worked through the Genki 1 and Genki 2 textbooks together, and we are now about to begin Quartet. What I appreciate most about Koyuki Sensei's teaching style is the balance she strikes between patience, encouragement, and challenge. Her lessons are always enjoyable and engaging, but she also knows how to push me in the right way so that I continue to improve and stay motivated. She is highly adaptable and is always able to tailor her approach to my individual needs as a learner. I genuinely look forward to every lesson and feel motivated to study between sessions, often thinking ahead to what we will cover next. Tomoko-sensei is a wonderful teacher! Her lessons are thorough, helpful, and contain useful information for future study. She provides recording and pronunciation files, and even intonation guides so you can practice on your own after the class. My Japanese has improved thanks to Tomoko-sensei. Every class I take with Tomoko-sensei helps me improve in an instantly noticeable way, and she is also a fun and interesting conversation partner. 韓国文学レッスンでKay.先生と一緒に初めて韓国語原書を一冊読むことが出来ました。小説はまだハードルが高く感じたので教材には可愛いイラストの絵日記を選びました。著者の心象風景に共感したり、会話や独り言の言い回しや方言などこれまでの文法レッスンのテキストとはまた違う生の表現に触れられたり、とても楽しく読むことが出来ました。ネイティブが日常のやり取りでよく使う表現を先生が補足して教えて下さるのもうれしいです。いつも続きを読むのが楽しみでした。次に読む本も先生とご相談して決めたところで、これからまた新しい本のレッスンも入るのが楽しみです。
