Today I have an announcement to make with a terribly heavy heart. Some of you might know this already, but I will leave Cafetalk from the beginning of this March, so February will be my last month here as a tutor.
 
 
 

I will explain the reasons behind my decision briefly. As you know, I graduated from my university in October 2021, so my student status, which provided me with healthcare insurance so far, is officially over. Since at this moment freelancers have no rights to social security, healthcare benefits or worker protection in Serbia, this student status helped me to secure myself at least to a certain degree. The Serbian government, despite its reassuring promises, failed to work out a plan until January 2022 to properly regulate the legal status of freelancers, therefore we are still officially registered as unemployed people.
 
 
 

As a responsible adult, I feel I need to find a solution to this problem, especially in these difficult times of the pandemic. This means, I must find a job that can cover my health insurance and give me an employment status with all its benefits.  This needs to be a full-time position that would leave no place for my usual Cafetalk working hours. Therefore, for now, with lots of sadness, I will leave Cafetalk as a tutor. Given the opportunity, I would really like to come back to teaching here, even if only for the weekends, but I can't make such promise yet. So I will suspend my profile indeterminably from the beginning of this March.
 
 
 

This makes me very sad. I honestly loved working with all of you. You helped me learn and laugh a lot in the past 2 years. You inspired me and you helped me grow as a person. Our lessons were truly meaningful and heartwarming. Thank you all for being so patient with me. Thank you for putting trust in me. I appreciate your help and support from the bottom of my heart.
 
 
 

I am looking forward to seeing you one more time during this February!
