Hello! My name is Lalita.I am born and raised in India in a city called as Amravati in the state of Maharashtra.I consider it my opportunity and am thrilled to be your tutor on Cafetalk and to have you join me on this journey of exploration and understanding..I have a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry from Nagpur University and am a practising Dentist too.But I also have a special focus on Buddhism as I was brought up worshipping the Buddha, following its spiritual practices, reciting the Pali prayers and listening to the lifestory,the history and the Philosophy of Lord Buddha.
At a young age of 12 years I went to visit different places in India related to Buddhist historical importance such as Buddhagaya,Sarnath,Kushinagar,and Lumbini.I was really surprised to see a Japanese Buddhist temple and a Japanese garden in Buddhagaya which has remained a memory forever.And also because my medium of education was English,I thought there is no better way to introduce Buddhism other than English.I am also fluent in another Indian language called as " Hindi" and if you are interested we can exchange a few words in Hindi too.
I have a five year teaching experience in a classroom setting in healthcare and hence my approach to introducing Buddhism in English is going to make the learning engaging and insightful.As a practising Buddhist I find joy in sharing the teachings and knowledge of Buddhism.So therefore my goal is to help you to get the knowledge of the birth story, history and the teachings of the Buddha so you can apply them in your daily life as per your interest.My teaching style is interactive and student centred.I believe in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable, asking questions and exploring ideas.Together we will dive deep into rich history,profound teachings,and timeless wisdom of Buddhism.
Buddhism as a philosophy,or a way of life or a spiritual practice is divided into the three schools called as Thervada(Hinyana),Mahayana,and the Vajyayana.In these lessons my focus will be on the historical Buddha ,which is the Thervadian Style.
After exploring the historical and the spiritual foundation of Buddhism,I will then delve into the practices that form the core of daily spiritual life.These include Rituals,Meditation techniques and Mindful living.
Through my lessons you will improve your English skills and gain a deeper understanding of the Buddhist stories, history and his philosophy and practices.This will be the main goal of our lessons.Simultaneously I will be offering a reading of the Hinyana Buddhist prayers translation in English.Are you currently reading them or are you interested? I will help you with that.
