Hi, I am Phathu, a native English speaker from South Africa, a qualified teacher and a 120-hour TEFL-certified tutor. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a BSc in Human Physiology and Genetics.

I have over two years of teaching experience online and in the classroom, working with students from Japan, Italy, Turkey, Poland and South Africa.

My passion is helping shy learners find their voice. In my lessons, you can speak, make mistakes and try again without feeling pressured. I teach children aged 4–12 using pictures, props, games, phonics and real-life situations to make English fun and interactive. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a learner move from one-word answers to expressing their own ideas confidently.

I also help teenagers and adults improve their conversational English, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, interview skills and Business English. Through practical conversations, speaking activities and personalised feedback, I help learners use English more naturally in everyday situations. Lessons are adapted to your interests, goals and learning pace.

Outside teaching, I enjoy painting and playing padel. I also love learning about different cultures and meeting people from around the world.
