Hello everyone,
My name is David and I live and work in the UK.
I am a senior academic with over 20 years experience working in different universities in the UK teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and PhD supervision.
I have a BA (1st class Honours) and PhD in Sociology and Social Policy from the University of London, an MA (Distinction) in Leadership & Management and am a qualified university teacher with a Postgraduate Certificiate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLT HE).
I also conduct research in the social sciences - I am an award winning author and have published widely in journals, edited books and research monographs.
Prior to this I taught TEFL with a focus on Academic English, Business English and teaching IELTs, TOEFL etc for university entrance.
I can teach advanced English conversation and Business English as well as speaking, listening, debating and presentation skills.
I can support you and help you to improve in advanced level reading, comprehension, synthesis and analysis.
I specialise in academic writing e.g., the formalities and structure of writing, essay/dissertation composition; using appropriate grammar and vocabulary; developing critical skills and writing. In short, all the skills you need to succeed at university either at undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
I can also teach or support you in the social sciences e.g., sociology, economics, politics, psychology, research methods or in business and management studies.
Likewise, I am happy if anybody would like to practice reading and discussing/debating academic/media articles with close textual analysis.
I can help guide your essay, dissertation, thesis or report to achieve an excellent result.
Classes will be designed according to your specific needs and requirements and can be conducted on skype.
