Hello - My name is Mako, and I am a Japanese teacher.
 
I am a native speaker born and raised in Japan.
 
When I was young, I visited many countries as a flight attendant on international flights.
 
I am good at communicating with people from other countries because of my experience of working with and serving people of different nationalities, languages, and backgrounds.
 
I am now married to an English husband and have been in the UK for over 25 years.
 
For the past few years I have been teaching Japanese to beginner and intermediate level students on a part time but face to face basis.
 
I love to chat, so here at Cafetalk, rather than giving lessons, I hope to be able to talk about various things in Japanese.
 
 
 If I ask everyone, "Why are you interested in Japanese?" I am sure you will have many different answers.
 
  •     I like Japanese anime, manga, novels, and dramas I live in Japan/would like to live in Japan in the future　　
  •     My girlfriend／boyfriend is Japanese
  •    I like Japanese artists
  •    I work for a Japanese company/would like to work for a Japanese company in the future
  •    Want to sing Japanese songs
  •    Want to cook Japanese food
  •    I am learning martial arts, flower arrangement, tea ceremony, etc.
 
　It doesn't matter what your reason is.
The best time is when you want to do it, and you can share that passion with me.
 
I know from my own experience of learning English and Korean that sometimes it is difficult to use new phrases and words because you don't want to make mistakes.
 
During our sessions with me, please don't be afraid to make mistakes and use it as much as you like!
If you were perfect, there would be no need for lessons.

I do not use a specific textbook, so let's have a fun-filled conversation using Japanese in the topic and style of your choice!
 
It may sound like I am only for those who have knowledge of Japanese, but that is not true.
 
I also love to gradually increase your knowledge of Japanese to those who have nothing to share.
 
Depending on your needs, I can communicate in English or Korean (a little bit, lol) and use my best gestures!
 
I would love to talk to you and hear about your passion for the Japanese language.
