【Self Introduction】
My name is Ella Ueda (上田エラ).
I am from Ukraine, but I have been living in Japan
since I graduated from high school, and I am a Japanese national.
View of the city where I live in
My interests include playing the guitar and karate.
I also enjoy sewing.
Last year, I made
a jinbei (甚平) for my son.
It is a type of Japanese casual wear that is
very cool and comfortable to wear in the summer.
【Why am I living in Japan, and why do I teaching Japanese?】
When I first came to Japan,
I could not speak a single word of Japanese,
and every day was full of stress.
I felt like I was trapped
in a dark tunnel
with so many things to learn.
I felt ashamed and discouraged
that I could not express
my feelings well in Japanese.
No matter how well my teachers at the Japanese
language school I went to at the time taught me,
most of the students were
from countries that use kanji characters,
so I was quickly outpaced
on the weekend tests.
I thought about what
【my strengths】 were when learning Japanese,
and how to demonstrate those strengths,
and with a teacher who became my ally,
they guided me with
lessons that met my needs.
As a result, in a year
I obtained a Japanese drivers license in one go.
Life in Japan became more and more
convenient for me.
I became more positive and comfortable with Japanese,
which led me to pass the N2 level test with ease.
After that, I passed the N1 level test on my own.
The difference between N2 and N1 was so big
that I feel it is not too much to say they are completely different tests.
However, by working hard,
I was able to improve my language skills and
solve problems one after another, which
I had found difficult until a short while ago.
I was able to keep going without losing my hope
because I had my family and teachers
by my side who believed in me.
I would be delighted if I could work with you
to guide you through your current Japanese studies,
based on my own experience of having gone from not being able to speak Japanese at all,
to obtaining a driver’s license in Japanese and passing the N1 exam.
Whatever your dream may be, whether it is to go on to higher education,
travel abroad, or emigrate to Japan, it will surely come true.
Please do not worry and stress alone, and instead come and talk to me about anything.
I am currently attending a Japanese language teacher
training course and will graduate soon.
I will be more than glad
to help you in any way I can.
