Hi! I’m Juan Carlos. I’m passionate about poetry, grammar, and languages. Would you like to learn with me?
 
I have experience working with all ages and levels: throughout my career, I have taught in elementary school, high school, and also to adults online. For me, teaching is not just about talking to students, but with them: engaging in dialogue, exchanging ideas and opinions, and sharing doubts. I am a firm believer in communication and personalized lessons.
 
Grammar —and, if you prefer, literature as well— will be a constant presence in our meetings, but I don’t believe in subordinations. Grammar exists to justify the language: to guide us. To quote the Venezuelan philologist Ángel Rosenblat, we must put “grammar at the service of the language, and not the language at the service of grammar.” We will not underestimate its importance, but we will learn to say things in context —through readings, conversations, music, and many translation exercises— and during this process, we will explain the reasoning behind them.
 
To ensure effective communication and a comprehensive learning experience, my classes are designed for students who meet at least one of these two requirements:

  1. Intermediate or advanced level of English (B1+): This allows me to take on absolute beginners (A0) using English as a bridge language.
  2. Intermediate or advanced level of Spanish (B1+): For those who already have a sufficient foundation for fully immersive instruction in Spanish.

This criterion is essential to ensure that dialogue and the exchange of ideas flow smoothly from the very first session.
 
If you want to express yourself fluently, write properly, read naturally, and master Spanish grammar, I’ll be waiting for you!
