Hi, everyone! It's nice to meet you, my name is Courtney! （＾∇＾）
初めまして、コートニーと申します！
I'd like to introduce myself:
I was born and raised in Minnesota, which has warm summers and cold winters(雪がたくさん降るよ！). In my free time I like playing video games, watching TV, reading, studying, and especially drawing.
I became interested in Japanese, Japanese culture and anime when I was 12 years old. I think Japanese is a beautiful language and thought, "Oh! I want to become fluent in Japanese!" But I didn't have confidence using Japanese outside my classes.
After I graduated with a Bachelor's in Asian Language and Literature, I was able to move to Japan! I lived in Gunma, Japan for 5 years teaching English in public schools (楽しかった!!).
When I was in Japan, 3 wonderful things happened:
1) I learned about Japan culture and met many different people!
2) I helped my students get better at English!
3) I accomplished many of my Japanese language goals!
My goals on Cafetalk:
1) I want to help you reach your English-speaking goals too!
Let's make English lessons that fit your needs! I want to help you with your self-introduction, using vocabulary and grammar, and speaking about a variety of conversation topics.
2) Don't worry about making mistakes!
Speaking in another language is sometimes scary, but I learned that using a language is the best and fastest way to learn! That is how I learned Japanese: making lots of mistakes! (笑笑)
3) Let's have fun!
I'm excited to see you get better and better, and let's have fun stalking in English!

This is me (with the necklace) and my twin sister! We like going hiking!
I love Takoyaki and other Japanese foods! (Including Natto!)
I lived near Kusatsu, Gunma! It is such a beautiful place!
