Hi! My name is Zach McLaughlin and I'm a TESL Canada certified ESL instructor from Toronto, Canada.
I've been teaching since 2010 and have over 12,000 hours of classroom experience. It's been my great pleasure to meet, teach, and learn from hundreds of students from all around the world and all walks of life, and I will do my best to share all of that knowledge and culture with my future students!
I pride myself on being a professional and responsible instructor, but I'm also always looking for ways to have a little fun. My background in visual communication has given me a great appreciation for creativity, and I hope to help learners enjoy using the English language effectively to accomplish their goals!
The different lessons that I offer focus on specific skills, but you will find opportunities in them to practice and improve a range of abilities. So, even if you choose a vocabulary lesson, there will still be lots of speaking! Although I do not offer a lesson specifically for grammar, I'm happy to answer any and all grammar questions in any of my lessons. Please don't hesitate to ask!
I also enjoy creating and improving my resources, and I'm always looking for ways to add lessons that meet my students' needs. If there is a topic that you're interested in, let me know!
Note: I am available for lessons on both Skype and Zoom. However, I can only do short lessons on Zoom. Also, because my experience is with adult learners, I will not be offering lessons for children at this time.
Some of my hobbies and interests include watching hockey, building LEGO models, trying new kinds of beer, playing foosball, drawing, and learning Japanese. If we have something in common, I hope we can chat about it, and if you have different interests, I look forward to learning about them!
