Hello and welcome!
I’m happy to be back on Cafetalk after taking some time away to complete my studies.
I’m originally from Indonesia and currently based in the Netherlands. I recently graduated with a Master’s degree in International Development Studies, specialising in Migration & Development.
My career path has also been a journey of transition. I started in civil and seismic engineering, then moved into humanitarian engineering, community development, and eventually international development. Along the way, I have worked across Indonesia, Uganda, Kenya, and the Netherlands.
On Cafetalk, I want to create a warm, friendly, and educational space where learners can feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and exploring new ideas.
1) Indonesian Language: as a native Indonesian speaker, this is my main teaching area. I can help with Indonesian for beginners, everyday conversation, pronunciation, travel Indonesian, useful daily expressions, and Indonesian culture. My focus is practical Indonesian that you can actually use in real-life situations.
2) Let’s Explore the Real World: for learners who enjoy meaningful conversation, we can explore topics such as migration, culture, identity, inequality, education, belonging, cities, and global development. This is not a formal academic class. We may use a photo, question, short article, or real-life situation to start the discussion and explore different perspectives together.
3) Everyday English Conversation: a comfortable space to practise speaking English through everyday topics, interests, travel, culture, work, and life experiences.
4) Fun English for Kids: playful English practice using pictures, simple games, stories, vocabulary, and conversation. My teaching style is patient, flexible, and learner-centred. I hope every lesson feels useful, interesting, and enjoyable.
I look forward to meeting you on Cafetalk!
