Self Introduction
Hey everyone! I've lived in Japan for 3 years, and have learned so much about the culture. I learned the language at a very young age, and though kanji still has me a bit confused I'm still trying to learn everything. As for my personality I like to make people laugh and smile. I'll tell jokes, act silly to help people feel relaxed, life throws us around and beats us up so I want people to feel some joy when they are around me. Also I am very competitive. Sports, trivia, videogames ( ESPECIALLY VIDEOGAMES) I go 1000% competitive mode because I was raised to be a winner.
Teaching Background
I have been an ESL teacher for over 4 years. I have taught so many Japanese people how to speak English and have enjoyed every moment of it. I have also taught Korean, and Middle Eastern students as well so I feel I have much experience with many international people. I feel what seperates me from most English teachers is that I am bilingual. Being able to speak Japanese definitely helps me teach others as well as give relatable examples for them to better understand the language.
Teaching Stlye
I feel the schools in Japan only focus on reading and writing when they should really be focused on the speaking. Also after hearing a bunch of my students complain about the teaching in Japan it's apparent that there needs to be a change.That's what I will be focusing on conversation in my classes. There is no limit to what we can talk about. Generally in my conversation classes we start with a topic and then continue chatting I'll make notes of any mistakes the student makes, and near the end of the class I let them know what they did wrong for them to change it. We will have casual chats and don't worry if you're English isn't very good I will do my best to guide you along the way. I say this to all my students, do not get discouraged if your English is not good or you make a lot of mistakes, because if you make a lot of mistakes that means you can become stronger/ better by learning from them. With me as your teacher I guarantee you will be speaking like a native english speaker in no time!
