Deanna 講師的自我介紹
About Me:
Hello, my name is Deanna (ディアナ)!
I first became interested in Japanese culture through manga. Growing up, my favorite series was Dragonball, though now I love Shingeki no Kyojin, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and many more! In high school, I ended up reading Mishima Yukio's "Confessions of a Mask," and that jumpstarted my love of Japanese literature. I've studied Japanese literature at Columbia University and Kyoto University, and now my research focuses on manga artists such as Mizuki Shigeru, Shirato Sanpei, and Tsuge Yoshiharu.
I love collecting go-shuin at temples, eating delicious Japanese food, going to onsen, and learning about Japanese history. I also play the koto! I've been all over Japan, but I love hearing new recommendations of places to visit from my students!
About my Lessons:
Learning another language is hard -- I get it!! That's why we will learn at your pace! I am super patient, so don't worry about making mistakes! I will help correct your pronunciation, and increase your vocabulary naturally. I have been teaching English online for almost ten years, so I have the experience necessary to make you feel comfortable speaking English with a native speaker. I have also passed the N1 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (日本語能力試験N1), so I can provide Japanese language support!
