I am a New Zealander living in Osaka with my wife and 2 sons.
I have a bachelor of arts, majoring in philopshy, and a CELTA (Certificate in English Language) Teacheing to Adults) from Camrbridge Assessment English. I am currently studying towards my masters in education.
Over the last ten years I have taught a wide variety of classes for adults, high schoolers, infants, and everything in between. I have even been a cooking instructor for retirees and supervised a Dungeons & Dragons club for elementary school students.
For the last five years I have been a preschool homeroom teacher at an international school, working with an inquiry based curriculum. My favorite part of that job was supporting the invovlement of families in their child's educaiton.
That is what I want to continue to do with me lessons here, on Cafetalk: I want to not only teach your child in a fun and relaxed way that follows their interests, but also teach you how to support them and encourage their use of English at home.
The lesson was full of content. The teacher is active. He let my kid talk and my kid felt free. It is really good to start studying English by learning about phonics.
Thank you very much.
