Hi there, I'm Holly! It's nice to meet you! Let's talk!
I consider myself a well-rounded person with many different interests. I’m not embarrassed to say that I read manga and watch anime! I enjoy arts and crafts, especially sewing, and am a huge fan of Bob Ross. I like discovering new world cuisines and sometimes cooking them. In my spare time, I enjoy podcasts. My dream is for my students to benefit as much as they can from my course. It's been years in the making!
I have a B.A. in English and a TESOL, combined with years of teaching English overseas and at schools in the U.S. I have taught test preparation (multiple choice, essay, OLSAT, TOEIC,Eiken) overseas and in the U.S. My work with students makes me efficient.
I also have years of experience with various student populations. I have been teaching since 2003! My teaching style is flexible and can adjust accordingly, based on student’s needs. However, I’m aiming for a master’s degree to deepen my knowledge of the subject, consolidate my skills, and better help those students I am already teaching to realize their goals. I am currently applying to graduate school.
I want to help my students achieve their dreams, whether that be to pass an exam or advance their conversational skills. I've lived in Japan, and I know that English, as taught in overseas settings, can sometimes be boring and unstimulating. I have an effective style and I enjoy engaging with, teaching, and learning with students.
