A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in the Bush

Cecily G.

I have been thinking recently about the proverb: "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". It means it may be better to accept what you already have than trying to reach for something else that may be better. For example, if you applied for some jobs and you receive one job offer, it may be better to take that job than to wait and see if you can get a better offer. Possibly, while you're waiting for the better offer, the first job offer (the "bird in the hand") may no longer be available. What do you think?
