My Favourite Character in a Movie

Weekly Topic: My favorite character in a movie !

Apr 7, 2021

When people ask me, "Who's your favourite character in a movie?", my answer is always "Batman". It's not just any Batman, it is the Batman from Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy.

I believe many of you have watched this series already so I won't go too much into details and for those who haven't watched the trilogy, don't worry, there are no spoilers. As for myself, I've watched this series countless times.

The first one, "Batman Begins", came out in 2005. At first, I thought it was just another cartoonish movie (thanks to Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin movie that was released in 1997) so I didn't have much interest in it. However, after I went to the theatre and watched it with my friends (on my birthday), I was stunned. It was not like any other Batman movies that I've watched before. This was totally different. The characters, the story, the setting, it was all so real. Once again, I fell in love with the Batman movies.

If you think "Batman Begins" was great, wait until you watch "The Dark Knight". Director Christopher Nolan brought the Batman movie to new heights. In this movie, Batman's greatest nemesis, The Joker, caused catastrophic damages to Gotham City and Batman himself. Personally, I think I've watched this one more than 100 times (yes, I'm that addicted to it) and I still watch it from time to time. If you're a Batman fan, you will for sure be addicted to this movie.

"The Dark Knight Rises", is the last movie of this trilogy. Once again, Director Christopher Nolan amazed us with his new tricks. He brought in a few new characters, one of whom is Bane, and he almost ended Batman's career. For some people, they didn't enjoy this one because "The Dark Knight" was so hard to top. However, I enjoyed it because the movie wasn't only about good and evil, it actually taught us the way to live one's life. I felt this was the perfect ending to the trilogy.

If you haven't watched the Dark Knight Trilogy, I strongly recommend it!
