My Hometown is Actually Famous For...

I come from Perth, Australia, which is on the west coast of the country. It is actually one of the most isolated cities in the world. The closest city to Perth is Adelaide, in South Australia, but it’s more than 2,000 kilometres away! Perth, and Western Australia, is home to some incredible flora and fauna - native plants and animals - including the quokka, a small wallaby with a beaming smile! It’s become very famous in recent years because everybody wants to take a selfie with a quokka! Perth city itself sits on the Swan River and Indian Ocean, and enjoys more sunshine than any other capital city in Australia.

As for my hometown, just south of Perth, it’s pretty famous for marine wildlife. You can spot dolphins in the estuary, and they’ll playfully jump for your camera or alongside your jet-ski. You can take cruises to spot the dolphins as well. In the autumn, there is a Crab Festival where you can enjoy all kinds of seafood, catch crabs yourself, participate in waterfront activities, enjoy local music, and so on. Western Australia is an excellent place to visit for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday, surrounded by beautiful natural sights.
