Padma Bhushan Saichiro Misumi is a former Executive Director of India Japan Association. Mr. Misumi is a 100-years old Japanese national, who was a close associate of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Mr. Misumi was instrumental in inviting Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to Japan in 1943 and organizing his famous meeting in Hibiya Park in Tokyo in Japan.

After the end of the World War II, Mr. Misumi became active in promoting high-level political and cultural relations between India and Japan and to deepen the bilateral ties. Mr. Misumi was instrumental in giving a boost to the economic relations. In recognition his yeomen services, the Government of India conferred the high civilian honour of "Padma Bhushan" to Mr. Saichiro Misumi in 2015.
