What was an unusual experience you had with a random person?

I remember when I was travelling a couple of years ago, people I didn't know wanted to take me to lunch. This is something that can be common in some cultures, but to me, it was an unusual experience, as it isn't common where I am from. I had a wonderful time getting to know the person and enjoyed talking to them. It was great to exchange stories and get to know their country and culture better too.
