Nigerian Festive dish

周间主题: What is the best Christmas dish in your country/area?

Amaka

Nigeria is a country blessed with so many ethnic groups and rich Cultures amongst those rich culture is food.
Food is something that nourishes our body, something that keeps us healthy. For some of us food is more than health benefits, food is passion, art or even culture.
For Nigerians, well food is everything including bragging rights. Yes you read that well "bragging rights" and one of many dishes that Nigerians brag about is our ability to make the best Jollof rice in west Africa.
I am not going to bore you with the history of Jollof rice or how it's made ( you can book a conversation lesson for that ) but I am just going to briefly talk about why it's most widely cooked and eaten in parties and festivities (that is weddings, Christmas, anniversaries etc).
   Jollof rice
as a dish is more than eating rice for Nigerians is a dish that is filled with love and passion when prepared and eaten. It can be prepared with the tiniest of ingredients to the largest making it both good for the poor and rich and of course a party/festive dish. The key to a good party or Festive menu in Nigeria must include Jollof rice, if not found that event would be tagged incomplete. During Festivities such as Christmas and the rest, friends, family and neighbors all who celebrate such festivities cook and share Jollof rice amongst themselves.
In conclusion no Nigerian party or festivity can cought not having Jollof rice as either a main dish or other wise. Our love for Jollof rice cannot be scaled neither can anyone say we don't make the best in West Africa??.
