ITA: I supplì sono snack italiani a forma di palla di riso. Sono tipici della cucina romana. I supplì sono farciti[1] con la mozzarella e la salsa di pomodoro. In origine, i supplì venivano venduti nelle friggitorie[2], tipiche botteghe[3] romane dove si vendevano cibi fritti, infatti il supplì è un fritto. Ora i supplì sono spesso serviti nelle pizzerie di tutta Italia come antipasto. Si mangiano con la pizza. È molto simile alla ricetta dell'arancino siciliano, ma hanno una forma diversa.
 
EN: Supplì are Italian snacks in the shape of a rice ball. They are typical of Roman cuisine. The supplì are filled with mozzarella and tomato sauce. Originally, the supplì were sold in the ‘friggitorie’, typical Roman shops where fried foods were sold, in fact the supplì is fried. Now the supplì are often served in pizzerias all over Italy as an appetizer. They are eaten with pizza. It is very similar to the Sicilian arancino recipe, but they have a different shape.
