DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A WRITER? TAKE A LOOK AT MY CREATIVE WRITING LESSON!

Weekly Topic: Talk about one of your popular lessons!

Laurin N.

Are you passionate about writing? Are you writing a novel? Do you want to start writing but you don't know where to start? In this lesson we will analyze the techniques and foundations of storytelling and how to write a novel.

Creative writing is a discipline and it includes every kind of writing, which is not non-fiction, essays, academic and professional writing. Creative writing - especially fiction - includes the writing of novels, short stories, and fairy tales. It has an entertainment purpose.

The art of storytelling is a real universal science. For this reason, it has rules and techniques, like any other discipline.

A story is not made only of plot, but of characters, settings, subplots, dialogues and deep meanings. Like a layered onion, each stratum hides a thousand layers beneath its surface.

In this lesson, we will study and analyze the elements of a novel. Each lesson will be dedicated to a particular element - you can choose the elements to expore during the lesson.

some of the topics are:

  • 3 Archs story structure.
  • the characters.
  • Plots and subplots
  •  the themes of a story
  •  how to write dialogues.
  • World building.
  • Points of view (pov).
  •  story telling.
  • Show, don't tell!
  • Genres.

There are many other elements to analyze, the ones in the list are just some of them.

I recommend this lesson to the students who are interested in writing novels. I offer lessons in both Italian and English. There is no specific category for this lesson, so I also accept students who only speak English or Italian. The rules of creative writing do not depend on the language.
