Keep Your Skype Chats on Microsoft Teams

Ray Roshdy

Hello everyone!

Since Skype is being phased out, I will be conducting lessons on Microsoft Teams (alongside Zoom and Google Meet).

I chose to include Teams too because it is very similar to Skype, and it will keep all our Skype chat history, so we can simply continue right where we left off.

Here’s how to switch easily:

1. Open your Skype app

You’ll likely see a message from Microsoft asking you to try Microsoft Teams.

2. Click the button to open Teams

This will take you to Teams, use the same email and password you used for Skype to sign in.

3. All your Skype chats and contacts will be there

That means you can see all our old messages on Teams and continue just like before!

4. Send me a message

When booking a lesson on Cafetalk, choose any calling platform, then message me letting me know that you'd prefer to use Teams. I will send you a meeting link for our lesson.

(for new students, please include your old Skype username or email in the message)

  • If you don’t see a message in Skype, you can also go directly to teams.microsoft.com and sign in with the same account you used for Skype.

Let me know if you have any questions; I’ll be happy to help!
