Laugh, Learn, Repeat

Weekly Topic: Three things I wish I had known when I was a beginner

PANITA

Laugh at your mistakes, practice every day, and dive in headfirst.

  • Mistakes aren’t scary—they’re actually your best friends!
When you’re just starting out, it’s easy to feel embarrassed about saying the wrong word or making a grammar mistake. But here’s the secret: every mistake is a mini-lesson in disguise. The more you make, the faster you learn. Laugh at your slip-ups and keep going—confidence grows faster than perfection!

  • Little and often beats long and rare
You might think you need to study for hours at a time to improve, but that’s not true. Practicing 15–20 minutes every day is far more effective than cramming for 2–3 hours once in a while. Daily habits build stronger memories, and even short practice sessions can snowball into huge progress over time.

  • Use it now, don’t wait to be perfect
One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is waiting until they “know enough” to speak. Don’t! Use the language in real life right away—chat with friends, watch movies, sing along to songs, or even narrate your daily routine to yourself. Real practice is messy, sometimes funny, and always powerful.
