A day in my life in the UK

Michelle GL

Everyday life looks different depending on where you live. I have been blessed to experience different cultures living abroad, so today I am sharing a little of what a typical day looks like for me back home in the UK. My days are usually a mix of veterinary work, English teaching and finding small ways to relax and recharge.

My morning begins with walking my dog Twix. She loves to go join my dad's dogs for a quick run! I then get a pre workout snack and either head to the gym or go for a run. Now it's time for breakfast! A toasted bagel, some turkey bacon and a cup of tea sets me up for my morning!

My work life is a little unusual because I have two jobs. Some days I'm at the veterinary clinic, meeting clients and treating their pets. The work can be stressful at times, especially when clients are worried, but it is always rewarding to help animals. On other days I am teaching English online. I meet students from many different countries- some are professionals like doctors and vets, and others are learning English for travel, work and daily life.

Most evenings, I teach English lessons. After that I like to walk Twix and then cook a simple dinner. Dinner is usually something quick and healthy like chicken or turkey and rice. To wind down, I enjoy reading a book or watching a tv series. Recently I have been reading Throne of Glass and watching Grey's Anatomy. This helps me relax after a busy day.

My days are often full but I try to balance work with small joys - exercise, reading, time with pets and good food. These little routeins keep me grounded and make everyday life feel meaningful.
