Dear Students,

Are you busy today?  Here's a great English idiom to describe your situation!

'To be run off your feet' means to be very busy; as if you're moving so fast, you've lost control of your feet!  We can also say 'rushed off', instead.

You can use it to describe your day at work, for example, or when you're busy preparing for an event.


Examples:

I'm so sorry.  I didn't have time to finish that.  I was run off my feet this afternoon.

A: Was the restaurant busy?
B: Oh, very.  The waiters were run off their feet!

You need to rest.  I know you've been rushed off your feet this week.
