Contraction (n.) = a shortened form of two words combined into one, where an apostrophe takes the place of the missing letters

Plural (n.) or (adj.) = more than one person, place, thing, or idea

To ditch (v.) = to leave, get rid of, or stop going to something or someone you no longer want.
