Weekly Topic: How I stay motivated after a long break

I have learned that getting back into something after a long break does not always require motivation. Sometimes, I just have to stop thinking about it and start.

For a while, I was too busy to cook. Ordering food was easier. I love eating, but I have never been someone who gets excited about spending hours in the kitchen. So cooking slowly disappeared from my routine.

Then, one day, I decided to cook again. Nothing complicated. I just made one meal.

It reminded me that cooking can actually be fun. There is something satisfying about choosing what to make, putting the ingredients together, and sitting down to eat something I made myself. I also noticed that I felt better having more homemade meals instead of constantly ordering food.

That one meal made the next one easier. Then another. I did not make a schedule or set a big goal. I simply started with a small step and let the momentum build.

Maybe that is how I should approach other things after a long break. I do not have to make up for lost time or become productive overnight. I can start small.

I have done it before.

I can do it again.
