The Core Verbs & Syntax
課程介紹
Building on the foundations of the first level, this program is designed for students who are ready to expand their communicative range and master more complex grammatical structures. In this level, we shift our focus toward object pronouns, essential verb contrasts, and our first deep dive into the past tense.
We will continue to use structured PowerPoint presentations to cover each of these topics in detail. These presentations include a theoretical section to explain how each topic works, an examples section where we will translate sentences together from Spanish to English to provide context, and a variety of exercises at the end of each session to practice everything learned during the class.
This curriculum serves as our roadmap to help you transition from basic sentences to more fluid and nuanced communication:
- Irregular root verbs (o:ue).
- Affirmative and negative expressions.
- Pronouns used as objects of a preposition.
- Direct object pronouns.
- Irregular root verbs (e:i).
- Irregular verbs in the first person.
- Saber contrasted with conocer.
- Indirect object pronouns.
- Pedir contrasted with preguntar.
- Special constructions with gustar and other similar verbs.
- Demonstrative adjectives and pronouns.
- Direct and indirect objects used together.
- Possessive pronouns.
- Reflexive constructions.
- Command forms: Ud. and Uds. (Formal imperatives).
- Uses of pronouns with command forms.
- The preterit of regular verbs.
- The preterit of the verbs ser, ir, and dar.
- Uses of por and para.
- Seasons of the year and weather expressions.
To ensure effective communication and a comprehensive learning experience, these classes are designed for students who meet at least one of these two requirements:
- Intermediate or advanced level of English (B1+): This allows me to take on absolute beginners (A0) using English as a bridge language.
- Intermediate or advanced level of Spanish (B1+): For those who already have a sufficient foundation for fully immersive instruction in Spanish.
