课程介绍
This is a 30 minute lesson in which the format will be a discussion about your writing. This lesson is useful for those who want to improve their writing for business, school, or simply for fun. I recommend students to be at an intermediate to advanced level of written English, and an intermediate level of oral comprehension. Ages 18+, male and female are welcome.
I am very open minded and easygoing, but must stress that I am not here to do your homework for you. I am here to help you learn how to recognize your own mistakes in the future and to explain why they are errors.
All forms of writing are welcome, including: first drafts, last drafts, outlines, personal and/or business letters, academic essays, thesis proposals, articles, journal entries, fiction and non-fiction, memorials, poetry, other stories, etc.
I ask that for this lesson, you keep your writing to 5-10 pages long, otherwise we may not have enough time to discuss your writing. If you have a longer document, please send me just one chapter for our first lesson, then we will discuss at the end of the lesson how to tackle the rest of it.
Format:
5-10 pages long
Double-spaced
11-pt or 12pt font
Times New Roman or Arial
Word document preferred, but PDF and Google documents accepted
What does this lesson look like?
At least 24 hours prior to the lesson, please send me your document. I will provide my email to you, or you may send it over Skype if you prefer. I may ask you some preliminary questions about your goals and purpose before reviewing it. After I receive the document, I will mark any mistakes.
2-5 minutes: Introductions, initial feedback on writing, setting goals.
10-20 minutes: Going over my corrections and feedback based on grammar, style, syntax, punctuation, effectiveness of writing, etc.
5-10 minutes: Questions from yourself, or setting goals or direction for your future writing.
Please note: If you do not send me your document at least 24 hours before our lesson, I reserve the right to cancel the lesson. You must give me time to review your writing!
