课程介绍
I'm Nate - a Cambridge graduate, experienced teacher and CELTA-qualified English tutor, but also a HUGE fan of Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Ariana Grande and all-things pop!
This course combines two of my favourite hobbies, English and music, by harnessing songs you love as a fun way to improve your language use.
How it works:
In each jam-packed session, we'll look at a selection of songs and unpack the language in their lyrics as a launchpad for discussion and a way to boost your English reading, listening and speaking skills.
You have the choice of either combining songs you've chosen with my own suggestions or asking me to pick all the songs.
My music taste is heavily pop and female singer-songwriter forward (think: Taylor, Billie, Katie, Gaga, Ariana, Lorde, Adele, etc.). I can customise the course partially to your tastes, but it will help if you're also a fan of some of these stars!
Delving into pop lyrics is a great way to:
- Practise reading and listening skills
- Learn about current idioms
- Discover and revise new types of language in English, like metaphor and simile
- Unpack pronunciation and stress
- Work on language around taste and opinions
This course is designed to be fun and relaxed, but also carefully structured to give you lots of opportunity for meaningful practice. It's a three lesson pack, with a 60-day time limit, to give you plenty of flexibility to fit lessons around your needs.
