Don't panic! It's not as difficult as you think.

Writing under pressure is difficult. But the IELTS test does not require creativity or ideas. What it requires is the awareness of the form the writing should have, the vocabulary that is required to impress the markers of the test, and developing ideas which are provided in the materials of the test. It is just a matter of knowing how to anayze data, make comparisons/contrasts, and developing arguments. Once a student knows these basics, they should go into the test knowing what is expected of them, which should result in a higher score on the test.
