Objective:

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

 

Identify and name common colors and shapes.

Differentiate between various colors and shapes.

 

Materials:

 

Colorful objects (e.g. colored toys)

Shape cutouts (e.g., circles, squares, triangles, rectangles)

Introduction:

 

Begin with a discussion on the importance of colors and shapes in our daily lives (e.g., recognizing traffic signs, identifying fruits, etc.).

Main Activities:

1. Color Exploration:

Display a variety of colourful objects  of different colors

Ask students to name the colors and discuss the objects associated with each color.

2. Shape Exploration:

 Show different shape cut-outs and discuss their characteristics.

 

Have students identify and name shapes. You can use real-life examples to reinforce the concept

Encourage students to find objects in their homes that match the shapes.

Color and Shape Matching:

Use objects of various colors and shapes.

 

Have students match objects with the correct color and shape on the cards.

Conclusion

9. Review the lesson by asking students to share their favourite color and shape.

 Summarize the main concepts learned during the lesson.

 

Homework:

11. Assign a homework task where students need to find objects at home that represent different colors and shapes.
