Do you enjoy watching movies and talking about them?
Sunday Screening is a weekly film discussion lesson where we use a different movie as the starting point for English practice and conversation.
How it works
1. Watch the film before the lesson.
A film will be announced in advance, giving you time to watch it before our Sunday meeting.
2. Join the Sunday Screening lesson.
We'll discuss the film together in English. We can talk about the story, characters, performances, memorable scenes, themes, your opinions and anything else that the film inspires us to discuss.
3. Develop your English naturally.
As we talk, I'll help you develop your vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and discussion skills, while giving you useful feedback on your English.
What can you practise?
Discussing a movie in English can be surprisingly challenging. You may need to describe what happened, explain your opinions, compare characters, give examples, agree or disagree with other ideas, and explain why you feel a certain way.
Sunday Screening gives you the opportunity to practise:
- Building and using vocabulary
- Expressing and developing your opinions
- Describing and discussing scenes
- Asking and answering questions
- Developing discussion skills
- Improving listening and speaking
- Learning about film and different aspects of culture
Student Choice Weeks
From time to time, we'll have Student Choice Weeks, giving students the opportunity to get involved in choosing the film for an upcoming screening.
So if there's a movie you've always wanted to discuss in English, you may get the chance to put it forward!
Who is this lesson for?
Sunday Screening is suitable for English learners of all levels who enjoy movies and would like to practise discussing them in English.
The questions and discussion can be adapted to your English level, so everyone can take part and find something to talk about.
Please make sure you watch the film before attending the lesson, as the lesson itself is focused on discussion rather than watching the movie.

Sunday Screening is intended for learners aged 18 and over, as some films may contain mature themes or subject matter.

映画を観ることや、映画について話すことが好きですか？
Sunday Screening は、毎週異なる映画を題材にして、英語で映画について話しながら英語を練習するディスカッションレッスンです。
レッスンの流れ
1. レッスンの前に映画を観ます。
事前に映画をお知らせしますので、日曜日のレッスンまでに映画を観ておいてください。
2. Sunday Screening のレッスンに参加します。
レッスンでは、映画について英語で話し合います。ストーリー、登場人物、演技、印象に残ったシーン、テーマ、自分の意見など、映画をきっかけにさまざまなことを話しましょう。
3. 自然な会話の中で英語力を伸ばします。
会話をしながら、語彙、文法、発音、ディスカッションスキルなどについてサポートし、英語について役立つフィードバックを行います。
どんな英語を練習できますか？
映画について英語で話すことは、意外と難しいものです。何が起こったのかを説明したり、自分の意見を伝えたり、登場人物を比較したり、具体例を挙げたり、「なぜそう思うのか」を説明したりする必要があります。
Sunday Screening では、次のような英語を練習できます。
- 語彙を増やし、使う
- 自分の意見を伝え、詳しく説明する
- シーンについて説明し、話し合う
- 質問したり、質問に答えたりする
- ディスカッションスキルを伸ばす
- リスニングとスピーキングを向上させる

Student Choice Weeks 🎬
時々 Student Choice Weeks を開催し、次回以降の映画選びに生徒の皆さんにも参加してもらいます。
「この映画について英語で話してみたい！」という作品があれば、候補として提案できるかもしれません。
こんな方におすすめです
映画が好きで、英語で映画について話す練習をしたいすべてのレベルの英語学習者におすすめです。
質問やディスカッションの内容は、それぞれの英語レベルに合わせて調整できますので、どのレベルの方でも参加して、自分なりに話すことができます。
レッスンの前に必ず映画を観てから参加してください。 レッスンでは映画を観るのではなく、映画についてディスカッションを行います。
ご注意ください
Sunday Screening は18歳以上の方を対象としたレッスンです。
作品によっては、成人向けのテーマや内容が含まれる場合があります。
