英語で「今の希望」と「将来の夢」を話してみよう

英会話では、自分の将来の夢や今実現したいことについて話す機会がよくあります。自己紹介や面接、留学、国際交流、仕事の場面など、さまざまなシチュエーションで役立つテーマです。

難しい英語を使う必要はありません。大切なのは、自分の気持ちや考えをシンプルで分かりやすく伝えることです。

「今の希望」を話す表現

現在の願いや目標を伝えるときには、次のような表現がよく使われます。

  • I want to...
  • I'd like to...
  • I'm hoping to...
  • My goal is to...
  • I'm working toward...

例

  • I want to improve my English.
  • I'd like to find a new job.
  • I'm hoping to study abroad next year.
  • My goal is to become a project manager.
  • I'm working toward getting a teaching license.

「将来の夢」を話す表現

将来について話す場合は、未来を表す表現を使うと自然になります。

  • I dream of...
  • My dream is to...
  • In the future, I'd like to...
  • I hope to...
  • One day, I'd like to...

例

  • My dream is to live in another country.
  • I dream of starting my own business.
  • In the future, I'd like to travel around the world.
  • I hope to work for an international company.
  • One day, I'd like to help people through my work.

理由も伝えると会話が広がる

自分の希望や夢を話した後に、「なぜそう思うのか」を付け加えると、より自然で魅力的な英会話になります。

例

I want to improve my English because I would like to work overseas.

My dream is to become a designer because I enjoy creating new ideas.

I'd like to live in Japan because I love Japanese culture.

相手にも質問してみよう

会話は一方通行ではありません。自分が話した後は、相手にも質問してみましょう。

  • What would you like to do in the future?
  • What's your dream?
  • What are your goals this year?
  • Is there anything you'd really like to learn?
  • Where do you see yourself in five years?

このような質問をすることで、自然な英会話が続き、お互いをより深く知ることができます。

英語は「完璧さ」より「伝えること」

将来の夢や今の希望について話すとき、難しい単語や長い文章は必要ありません。自分の言葉で、自分の気持ちを素直に表現することが何より大切です。

短い文章から始めて少しずつ理由や具体例を加えていけば、英語で自信を持って自分の夢や目標を語れるようになります。
