Lesson Objective:
1. Use polite and professional phrases in emails and workplace communication.
2. Write a clear and concise email for a work-related purpose.
Lesson Plan:
1. Warm-up (5 mins)
- Ask: " Have you ever written an email to your boss or a client in English?
2. Vocabulary and Useful Phrases (10 mins)
- Introduce key expressions:
* Polite opening: (Greetings)
* Making requests: (Could you please?, I would appreciate it if)
* Follow-ups: (I am writing to follow up on, or Looking forward to your response)
* Closings: (Best regards, Sincerely, Truly yours)
3. Reading & Analysis ( 5 mins)
- Show a short sample email
Subject: Request for Meeting
To Ms. Tanaka,
I hope all is okay with you. To discuss the project update, I would like to ask for a brief meeting.
Tell me when you are free this week, please.
Warm regards,
Maria
- Students quickly identify the subjects, greeting, main point/ body of the letter, and closing.
- Briefly discuss: " Why is this email clear and professional?"
4. Writing Practice ( 10 mins)
- Provide Scenario - Sts needs to request information from a colleague/client.
- Task - Write a short email using the learned phrase
- Provide review/ feedback: Focus on clarity, tone, and structure.

- Recap key phrases learned.
- Homework: Write an email to a hypothetical client or colleague using the phrases.
