Opening : teacher uses own warm-up routine for students . e.g. Teacher greets students and does days of week song + asking about date / weather
Main section : self - introduction / A-Z phonics / reading
Self-introduction : teacher introduces himself using set phrases . Practice the same set language with student(s) . Student(s) introduce themselves using the set phrases .
A-Z phonics : teacher works through the letter sounds with the student(s) and corrects any incorrect pronunciation
Reading (vocabulary) : student(s) look at the flashcard / poster and try to read all the words . The teacher corrects any mis-pronunciations .
Suggested activity : student(s) has to guess the vocabulary from the given pictures .
Conclusion : students are asked to practice the self-introduction as review for next lesson . If time the vocabulary for occupations can be given for the student(s) also to practice .
