Mastering the Subjunctive and Beyond
課程介紹
This advanced level program is designed for students who have mastered the indicative and are ready to tackle the most nuanced aspects of the Spanish language. Our primary focus will be the subjunctive mood in its various tenses, as well as complex sentence structures that allow for the expression of emotion, doubt, and hypothetical conditions.
We will continue to use structured PowerPoint presentations to cover each of these topics in detail. These presentations include a theoretical section to explain how each topic works, an examples section where we will translate sentences together from Spanish to English to provide context, and a variety of exercises at the end of each session to practice everything learned during the class.
This curriculum serves as our roadmap to achieve professional and academic precision in your Spanish communication:
- The present subjunctive.
- The subjunctive with verbs of volition.
- The absolute superlative.
- The subjunctive to express emotion.
- The subjunctive with some impersonal expressions.
- Formation of adverbs.
- The subjunctive to express doubt, disbelief, and denial.
- The subjunctive to express indefiniteness and nonexistence.
- Diminutive suffixes.
- The subjunctive after certain conjunctions.
- The present perfect subjunctive (Pretérito perfecto compuesto del subjuntivo).
- Uses of the present perfect subjunctive.
- The imperfect subjunctive.
- Uses of the imperfect subjunctive.
- "If" clauses (Clauses with si).
To ensure effective communication and a comprehensive learning experience, these classes are designed for students who meet at least one of these two requirements:
- Intermediate or advanced level of English (B1+): This allows me to take on absolute beginners (A0) using English as a bridge language.
- Intermediate or advanced level of Spanish (B1+): For those who already have a sufficient foundation for fully immersive instruction in Spanish.
