The book I chose for this lesson is called "Como agua para chocolate" (Like water for chocolate) from the mexican writer Laura Esquivel. Let's read together chapters of this book, I'll show you fragments of the movie too, learn new vocabulary and improve your reading skills.
It's not mandatory to buy the book, I'll share my screen with you.
This lesson is for intermediate or advanced students.
Book description
Like water for chocolate is one of the most successful Mexican novels. The main theme is forbidden love due to a family tradition. The interesting thing about this book is that it merges each chapter with the typical dishes of Mexican gastronomy with the story of the protagonist. At the beginning of the chapter it shows the ingredients for a meal, then the recipe is broken down throughout the chapter.
