Hello ~ My name is Yorikawa Akira

I’m Half Japanese, half Filipino. 21 years old, born in the Philippines, and raised in Japan for the first 8 years. I’ve been going back and forth between Japan and the Philippines during my childhood. Growing up in my family household, I had to use 3 languages; Filipino, Japanese, and English. Nihongo with my father, Filipino with my mother, and English with my sister and friends.

I have multiple Job experience that use bilingual if not multilingual skills, mentioning a few:

  • Nihongo Interpreter
  • Part-time personal English tutor
  • Part-time Hilton hotel staff

I want to mention beforehand that I am confident in my Nihongo but a little lacking in kanji, because I only got to study the basics while living in Japan. If you would rather have a pure-native Japanese, I would recommend having a goof look at the list of excellent qualified tutors that could match your needs!

In addition to my personal experience, I have a deep passion for languages and cultural exchange. This passion has driven me to continuously improve my communication skills and seek out opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

My teaching philosophy is centered on making lessons engaging and enjoyable. I believe that a positive and fun learning environment is key to helping people develop their language skills effectively. Whether you are a beginner looking to build a strong foundation or an advanced learner aiming to refine your skills, I am here to support you on your language-learning journey.

I want to share with you the method I have learned and applied in learning the languages (although it may be words that come from a not-so-long 21 years of experience, I’m sure that it will greatly impact your learning curve if applied).

 

I love going to the gym, training in martial arts, and riding motorcycles. These activities keep me fit and are a lot of fun. I’d say my hobbies are pretty typical for a guy in his 20s. I enjoy the challenge and the chance to push myself while staying active. Plus, it’s a great way to meet new people and stay motivated.

I'm still new, so for now I have a fun list of activities that includes:

  • Free Conversation
  • Reading articles and learning new vocabulary
  • Daily journaling: writing, reading, and refining
  • Getting to know each other (Counseling)
