Hello! My name is Althea Powell, but you can call me アルテア. I'm from Jamaica. My country is near the United States and Canada.
Do you know Usain Bolt? He's from Jamaica!
I have a Bachelor of Education degreee and I have been teaching English in Japan for 8 years. 

Teaching English in Japan

I came to Japan in March 2015 and I started teaching at a High School in Ibaraki. It was so much fun having conversations with the students.
They were also genki! We made a lot of great memories.

I have also taught English at a Elementary schools and Junior High schools in Kashiwa Chiba. It really exciting for me to teach all my students.

Later, I taught business English and conversation lessons at Ekiwas in Chiba. 

Hobbies & free time

I enjoy travelling around Japan and taking pictures of the beautiful temples and shrines. My favourite city is Kyoto! I love seeing Kinkaku ji temple (金閣寺). It's so beautiful.

I also enjoy cooking! I cook Japanese meals with my Japanese friends at home. My favourite Japanese foods are takoyaki, okonomiyaki, yakisoba and udon noodles.
