I've been teaching English on Cafetalk since 2011. I started teaching Japanese in 2023. I don't have any certificates to teach Japanese, but I'm working on it. I'm planning to take the exam next year (in 2024).
I'm currently teaching only to beginners because the materials are not ready for intermediate or advanced. I use the indirect method to teach Japanese, which means I use English to teach Japanese, so you need to understand English if you take my lessons.
My course is NOT "tailor-made" for you. Instead, it is well-strudtured and well-organised. You can learn all the four skills step by step, such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking as well as vocabulary, grammar, idioms, and expressions. I'll give you homework, quizes, and exams so that you can improve your Japanese quickly.
I have a lot of experiences teaching English to Japanese people. Many of my students are successful learning English. I'm trying to apply the methods to teaching Japanese. For example, Ondoku (oral practice) and Shunkan-sakubun (quick translating) are the good methods to learn a language.
You can learn Japanese like the way Japanese people learn English. If you ever wonder why Japanese people can learn English so quickly, please try my lessons.
To master a language, it's important to have a good balance between accuracy and fluency. I'll try to have a good balance in the lesson, which sometimes takes a lot of practice especially when you want to improve your fluency. Please have patience and bear with me. :)

**** About myself ****
I was born in Hiroshima and currently live in Tokyo with my husband and my son. I lived in the US for 8 years total, Portland OR 4 years and Albuquerque NM 4 years.
I have two bachelor's degrees, one in architecture from Hiroshima University and the other in computer science from Portland State University.
I like music. I play the violin, the piano, the koto, and the ukulele. I used to perform in a band too.
I like watching TV shows including Japanese anime. I like all the ghibli movies, Naruto, Boruto, Inuyasha, Bleach, One Piece, Spy Family, and so on.
