Hello! I'm Luke — Your Friendly British English Conversation Tutor ??

Hello everyone! My name is Luke, and I’m a native English speaker from the UK, currently living in Japan.

I’m a friendly, patient, and approachable English tutor with a 120-hour TESOL/TEFL certification and a genuine passion for helping students become more confident communicating in English.

I believe learning English should be enjoyable, practical, and relevant to your everyday life. Rather than focusing only on memorising grammar rules, I encourage students to practise using English through natural conversations, interesting topics, and real-life situations. My aim is to help you feel comfortable expressing yourself, asking questions, and enjoying conversations in English.

My lessons are conversation-focused and can be adapted to your English level, interests, and personal goals. We can talk about:

  • Everyday life and experiences
  • Hobbies and personal interests
  • Travel and different cultures
  • Work and professional communication
  • Sports and current topics
  • Football, including Manchester United, matches, players, and football news

I enjoy getting to know my students and finding topics that make each lesson interesting and engaging. You don’t need to worry about making mistakes — learning from mistakes is a natural and important part of improving your English.

⚽ English Through Football

Are you a football fan? As someone who loves football, I can incorporate football-related topics into our lessons to make speaking practice more enjoyable and motivating.

Whether you want to discuss Manchester United, talk about the latest match, learn football vocabulary, or simply practise having a conversation about your favourite team, football can be a great way to develop your English naturally.

? Who Are My Lessons For?

My lessons are suitable for learners from around 10 years old through to adults, including beginners and students who already have some English knowledge but want more opportunities to practise speaking and listening.

I will adapt the pace and difficulty of our conversations to your needs. Whether you want to improve your pronunciation, expand your vocabulary, practise everyday English, or simply become more comfortable speaking with a native English speaker, I’ll do my best to support you.

I also enjoy working with younger learners and encouraging them to communicate through engaging activities and topics they enjoy.
