Introduction:

Hello, my name is Cynthia (シンシア). I am half Japanese and half American and I speak both Japanese and English! I grew up in both Tokyo and California but currently I live in the state of Texas. Here in Texas, I live in the desert and it is very hot and dry all year round. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia. I love teaching and I have been teaching English for 6 years!

皆さんこんにちは、日本とアメリカのハーフのシンシアです! アメリカ、カリフォルニア州出身です。日本とアメリカ両国を行ったり来たりして育ったので日本語も英語もペラペラです！

日本の大手英会話学校で２年以上講師として勤務した後アメリカに戻り、テキサス州でプライベートで英語を教えています。趣味は神社巡り、お祭りが大好きです！大好物は明太子餅チーズもんじゃです！

日本語での質問も大丈夫ですので、英語が全くしゃべれない初心者さんでも安心してくださいね！皆さんにお会いできるのを楽しみにしています！

Teaching English in Japan:

I taught English conversation (英会話) in Tokyo, Japan at a large Eikaiwa school. I had students of many ages ranging from babies to the elderly. I taught many types of English classes such as business, discussion, and kid’s classes. I loved meeting so many new and wonderful students!

 

My Lessons:

  • I teach both English and Japanese lessons!
  • My lessons are focused on conversational fluency.
  • We can add new vocabulary and practice using it in conversation through situational roleplay.
  • During lessons, I will correct your English or Japanese, and I will teach you how to speak in a more natural way.

 



My Hobbies:

I have many hobbies because I like to try new things all the time. Last year, I started practicing the ukulele because I love the sounds that the ukulele makes. This year I have been trying to exercise more often so I started dancing! I also like to read and travel to new places.

While I was teaching in Japan, I enjoyed singing karaoke and going to the hot springs in Kinugawa. I loved being a part of the summer festivals as well! I also had the opportunity to travel to areas I had never been before such as the Shimanami Kaido and Kamakura.



No matter where you are with your language studies, I am excited to work with you and help you achieve your goals! I am looking forward to talking with you soon!
