Hello :) Welcome to my profile =D
My name is Paul and I am a South African native English speaker with a neutral English South African accent (which many of my students tell me is easier to understand than most British and American accents) and I am living in Nicaragua. I am TESOL qualified and have about two and half years of online teaching experience including teaching for a major Japanese online school.
I love teaching. I think that every single person in this crazy life is interesting and teaching gives me the opportunity to meet so many interesting people and I consider it an honor and a privilege to guide people through this, sometimes, daunting and difficult process. I take pleasure in making this process as smooth and enjoyable as it can be.
My teaching style is one of creating a relaxed and calm and even fun and funny environment because I truly believe the brain is more receptive to retaining information when it is in a state completely free from any tension or anxiety.
I have 8 years of experience working in recruitment doing bulk recruitment for the Call Centre industry. I know a thing or two about job interviews. I think I have conducted probably close to three thousand job interviews in my life so I have learnt from the best and from the worst. Most people learning English are learning English for work and that means they will be applying for new jobs and I am in a very good position to help people make this process easy and even fun. I can equip you with the necessary English AND equip you with the skills that will be invaluable to you in the entire interview process from hitting click on a job ad, to signing an employment contract.
I also have pretty good general knowledge so when you need a break from all the grammar, I am comfortable having conversations about just about any topic and I shy away from almost nothing. We can talk about whatever you like :)
When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me reading a book or streaming movies, series or especially documentaries at home. I also play the bass guitar which allows me to nurture my inner creative rockstar soul haha. I also like exercise and and LOVE nature and spend a lot of time out in the wild on my bicycle and on foot either running or hiking.
