Hi! I’m Victoria, an English teacher from Ireland with over 20 years of teaching experience.
I have a Master’s degree in Education, specialising in Applied Linguistics (English as a Second Language), and a PGCE in Primary Education. I have also studied Japanese at university and have JLPT N2, so I understand the challenges and rewards of learning a new language.

I now live in Mexico with my husband. I love the warm weather, the wonderful culture and, of course, the tacos! I’m passionate about travelling and discovering new places, people and cultures. I am a life long learner and I am always ready for a new challenge.

I have had many adventures and have lived in Spain, Romania and Cyprus before moving to Mexico.

I also lived and taught in Japan for nine years, working with a range of  students aged 3 to 83! Some of my students were complete beginners and other advanced learners. I have taught easy conversations and professional business English. I have also prepared students for university entrance exams, IELTS, TOEIC and EIKEN exams.

I am very patient and understanding teacher. I take pride in the fact that my lessons, while being tailored to your individual needs, are friendly, relaxed, engaging and most importantly enjoyable!

We can focus on conversation, grammar, pronunciation, exam preparation or any other area you would like to improve. I always create an environment where students feel safe and comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Making mistakes is part of our learning journey!

I love teaching because I enjoy helping people discover their confidence and find their voice in English. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student have that “aha!” moment and realize what they’re capable of.


I offer an introductory lesson so we can get to know each other and decide what kind of lessons will work best for you. You can choose the topics and skills you want to study, or I can suggest a lesson plan based on your goals. We can also use Japanese when helpful, or have a completely English-speaking lesson if you prefer.


As well as regular conversation and grammar lessons, you can choose from a range of personalised lessons designed around your interests and goals, including Pronunciation, English Through Songs & TV, Real-World English, and Grammar & Writing.

Having taught such a wide range of learners in Japan and around the world, I have developed the skills and experience to understand what each student needs and create lessons that are both effective and enjoyable.
