Nice to meet you! I'm Lydia. I was born and raised in Singapore and am now living in Japan. I’m a language nerd and am very interested in studying different English accents and learning new languages. English is my first language!

 

初めまして！日本在住、シンガポール出身のリディアです。「言語オタク」で、英語のアクセントの研究や外国語の習得に大変興味を持っています。母国語は英語です。

 

大家好！我叫Lydia，来自新加坡，但现在已移居到日本。我是一个“外语迷”，特别喜欢研究英文多样的口音以及学习新的语言。我的母语是英文！

 

I have been teaching English since 2007, first in Singapore, where I was born and raised, then in Japan, where I moved to in 2011. Over the past 13 years I have taught students from Thailand, Venezuela, China, Japan and Singapore, but most of my experience has been with Japanese-speakers.

 

2007年から英語を教え始め、最初は母国のシンガポールで始めたが2011年に日本に引っ越し、それから日本でも英語・英会話講師として活躍してきました。この13年間、タイ、ベネズエラ、中国、日本やシンガポール、様々な国の生徒を教えてきましたが、日本で住んでいるから主に日本語が話せる生徒を教えてます。

 

2007年以来，我首先在自己的祖国新加坡教了英文，然后2011年移居到日本之后，继续了英文教师的工作。这13年来，向我学英文的学生来自许多国家：泰国，委内瑞拉，中国，日本，以及新加坡。但因为我长期居住在日本，我的学生大部分是日本人，或会说日语的外国人。

 

I experienced the effectiveness of online lessons in 2014, when I was preparing to take the JLPT and decided to take one-on-one lessons. I found a Japanese tutor online who helped me pass the N1. I’m still hoping to speak like a native someday, so I understand how you feel if you wish to speak English like a native too! Here on CafeTalk, I promise to give you the support you need to achieve that goal.

 

2014に日本語能力試験を受けるために、マンツーマンの授業が受けたくてオンラインで日本語の先生とレッスンを始め、オンラインレッスンの効果を自ら体験し、そして2015年に1級に合格しました。ネイティブ並みの日本語を目指していますので、CafeTalkでネイティブ並みの英語を目指している方々の気持ちを理解できるうえ、サポートも提供いたします！

 

在2014年，因为要考JLPT，所以决定找个老师上一对一的日语课。当时是第一次体验了线上学习，亲自体会到它的效益。我很希望将来把日语提升到接近母语的程度，所以我也很了解那些很想把英文提升到像自己的母语一般的程度的人。通过CafeTalk，我想尽力支持我的学生们，让他们实现这个愿望。
